The end of Daily Blog Project 2022

A visual approximation of the author’s mental state.

I tried. I wrote. I’m done.

If you’ve followed me for a while then you know I’ve been done. Writing a blog a day for an entire year was a big ask, anyway.

The reason why I’m ending this project is simple: I wasn’t enjoying it anymore. It got to the point where it was just another point of stress for me. And I already have enough stress in my life.

So, this project is a failure. That is not to say this was in vain, however. I learned a lot from this project:

  • I learned that I’m disciplined enough to show up every day.

  • I learned that I can write about a lot of things.

  • I learned more about my writer’s voice, and how to better use it to express the ideas and feelings that I have.

  • I learned that I can derive a lot of worth from writing even if it’s to myself.

  • I learned that I can only derive worth from writing if I believe in what I write.

  • I learned when to quit.

So, that’s it for Daily Blog Project 2022. It’s been real.

So, what’s next? I’m going to take a week or two off (or three… or five…) to decide. I will have a new post up once I know what to do.
