Yeah, I need a vacation

Hmm… maybe…

It occurred to me I hadn’t really “gone away” to anywhere since I moved back to Southern California. Most of my travels since the move have been local, with no overnight stays. The only exceptions were the time I went to Northern California to visit my sister and my friend. The other was to help another friend’s dad move out of his home in Ojai. Both happened in the early summer months of last year. So, it’s been a while.

What really triggered my wanderlust had to do with cameras. Specifically, my desire to spend even more money on camera gear. I had just spent a not insignificant amount of money on the Fujifilm X-S10, and its lenses. At the rate I was going, I would have more cameras than snapshots. I needed to stop.

So, I looked into some hotel and flight packages. I figure it was that or spend even more money on camera equipment. A vacation would be a better use of my money… and my camera.

But where to? I don’t think I want to drive very far. I want to be near the wilderness. Maybe I should go to Idyllwild?

I’ll have to think about this. I'll try not to think too long.

Oops! I almost forgot:

Leg Update: It’s almost better. I can bend it without pain, but not in its full range. It’s good enough for walks on flat surfaces. I’m not sure if I can go on rigorous hikes, though.

Anyway, that’s it for now. Happy Friday!
