I’m not an athlete, so why did I get a sports injury?

I wish it was just a flesh wound.

Life just keeps throwing me curveballs. This time, I am dealing with an injured knee.

I hurt it yesterday when I was playing with my dog. My dog likes to hop and lunge, and he loves it when I do the same. It didn’t take very long for my left knee to exhibit pain. I had to stop our play and hobble to my room, much to my dog’s chagrin.

That’s what I get for jumping around like a spaz at age 40. I am not young. Nor am I a dog.

It might be a torn meniscus. I don’t know. It only hurts when I bend it. And now that the swelling has started, it feels worse now than it did last night. If it doesn’t get better after a couple of days, I’ll see a doctor.

I should probably see a doctor anyway, but I probably won’t. I’m such a dude.

I wanted to go on a photo walk this weekend, but this knee problem has messed up that plan. I will have to focus on healing. Maybe if I feel better tomorrow, I can park my butt at my backyard and take pictures of birds.
