You are worthy

I've been thinking about the concept of added value. Oftentimes, we merge our value to a business with our own worth as human beings.

This is understandable. Providing value to others can mean employment, which means income, which means, in this society, the ability to keep yourself alive. And staying alive is, at least, a prerequisite to appreciating one's own value.

I think there must be a qualitative way to determine an employee's value. I don’t have any money, so I can’t hire my own people to test out any theories. But I DO have a social media account, so let me do this:

To those who struggle with this as I have,

Businesses often change their requirements in response to a shifting market, and your value to them could grow or drop off completely. This is especially true as technology continues to disrupt our lives, not to mention the pandemic.

You have zero control over this.

Recognize the value in yourself, if you have not done so. Every person has earned a space in this world just by being alive. If you can read this, then you must own this space. It is your right. Claim it. Nurture it. It is yours; make it your own.

We affect one another through the space we occupy, no matter how we tend to it. That is what makes you valuable as a person.

You are worthy. Take up that space. Much love to you.
